Careers & Collaboration
Build the future of smart waste management
Trashium grows through the people who care enough to work on it. Whether you write code, plan routes, or knock on doors — there's a way to contribute.
Where we are right now
Trashium is a final-year academic project, not yet a registered company — so we're not posting salaried roles or making HR promises we can't keep. What we do have is open: room for collaborators, interns, open-source contributors and research partners who want to help take the platform further. If the project grows beyond its capstone stage, the people who helped build it will be the first ones we talk to.
Why collaborate with Trashium
Small project, genuine problem
Work on something real
Trashium tackles a problem you can see on your own street — not another abstract demo. Field research in West Bengal shapes every feature.
Touch the whole stack
From a Next.js front end to a Supabase backend, an ML pricing pipeline, and live route maps — there is room to go deep wherever your interest is.
Sustainability with substance
Circular-economy thinking, micro-hub logistics and fair-pricing economics, applied to a working product rather than a slide deck.
Where you could help
Areas we're always glad to have hands on
Frontend
React 19 + Next.js App Router, Tailwind v4, motion and data-viz work on the household and admin surfaces.
Backend
Supabase schema, row-level security, RPC functions, and the data plumbing behind pickups and rewards.
Mobile app
Taking the platform to a native or PWA experience for households and collectors on the move.
AI / ML
Pricing models on regional scrap data, plus future image-based waste categorisation at the point of pickup.
Logistics
Micro-hub planning and route optimisation so crews cover more stops with less distance.
Field operations
On-the-ground coordination with collectors and households across the operational towns.
Sustainability research
Measuring diversion impact, recycler partnerships, and the economics of keeping material in the loop.
Community outreach
Onboarding neighbourhoods, running awareness drives, and growing the habit of sorting waste.

Tell us what you'd like to work on and what you've built before. A short note and a link to your work is plenty to start a conversation.
